Free Flu Shots For The Unemployed
It’s that time of the year again — time to get ready for the flu season. If you’re unemployed, you can get free flu shots at CVS Pharmacy this year.
These are special dates, and they will vary based on your individual store location.
Here’s a snippet of information from their latest press release:
As part of a broad-reaching effort to keep Americans healthy this flu season, CVS Caremark today announced its commitment to providing 100,000 free seasonal flu shots to the unemployed. The program will include on-site flu clinics at One-Stop Career Center locations and distribution of vouchers for free flu shots at CVS/pharmacy or MinuteClinic. One-Stop Career Centers offer tools and training to job seekers.
In order to find the store closet to you that’s participating and to get the date for the shots, head on over to this search page. At the bottom, make sure you check the box next to Special Services: Flu Shots to find a store that’s participating.

To John Jefferson: Medicare will pay for 2 flu shots a year, at least that’s m understanding. Go to the Medicare site or call 1-800-523-5800 to make sure. I am in the same boat. Good luck…

Ok this is how this works.
First you have to go to your unemployment office
and see if you can get a voucher for the shot. Next if you get the voucher you can take that to CVS and use the voucher as payment for the shot. **PLEASE NOTE** you can not just walk in and get a shot by telling the people at CVS you are out of work

I would love to be able to get a flu shot.
Comment by Albert Stawasz on 17 November 2009:
I would never get a flu shot since all vaccines are neither safe nor effective and this year’s Flu shot has never even been tested.
Comment by Thomas Crane on 25 September 2011:
I’d love to get a flu shot, this will be the first year I won’t be able to. I am unemployed & none of the Walgreens or CVS in this area are participating in the free flu shots. Sorry, I can’t afford it, so guess i will take my chances.
