Words from a manufacturer: “Our handmade soaps are made using the cold process method in small, 8 pound batches. Each bar is hand cut and trimmed, then cured for at least four weeks. Each bar will measure approximately 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and will weigh approximately 5 ounces. We individually wrap our handmade soaps and provide a complete list of ingredients on each bar.”

We haven’t had one of these in awhile, and I think they’re pretty popular with you guys. Handmade soap is unique, and if you’ve never tried it you should give it a go.

This one is from Cloud 9 Spa, and all you have to do is fill out the form and answer a handful of simple questions.

What’s the difference between handmade soap and commercial soap? Basically, it’s the glycerin. Glycerin is left out of commercial soap because it is sold as a valuable by-product during the manufacturing process. Therefore, you’re missing out on all of this glycerin in your soap when you use a commercial product. Glycerin adds moisture to your skin and creates a “silky” feeling after using it.

Handmade soap is considered a “true” soap versus the petroleum-based products more typically seen at retail stores. These soaps contain all-natural ingredients including natural oils such as palm, coconut and olive oils that gently clean and is much milder on the skin than traditional soap products.

Coconut oil creates a rich lather while the palm oils help carry nutrients to the skin. Olive oil is used to prolong the life of the soap bar.
